Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal gave New Orleans Pelicans leader Willie Green a big credit for being a coach the players love following the club’s 113-111 home win over Dallas. Mavericks on Tuesday.

“I’m looking at Willie Green. I don’t know him, but I played against him. I can tell that the players love playing for him. When you have a coach who lets you go out and play, you will compete all the time. Our two stars are not there, these guys are making an audience. You have more shots. You get more freedom. When the guys make a mistake and go back to the coach, he’s not yelling. He is not making faces. So when you have a coach like Willie Green that lets you play, guys will always play hard.”
