Babar Azam’s Pakistan continue their campaign when they take on Zimbabwe in match 24 of the ongoing T20 World Cup on October 27 in a triple-header day at Perth Stadium. The Men in Green faced a Virat Kohli special in Melbourne when they suffered a four-wicket loss in a thriller from their opening match of the tournament. Zimbabwe’s first match with South Africa ended in a no contest as the neighboring countries shared points.

Speaking of India’s play, the ever-reliable starting pair of skipper Babar and Mohammad Rizwan failed to reach double figures as both fell early. But half a century by Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed took Pakistan’s total to 159/8 in their allotted 20 overs. In what looked like a challenging total and with India struggling at 31/4, Pakistan’s victory seemed inevitable. But King Kohli rose to the occasion as he broke the hearts of Pakistan with his 82*53 strike.

The Men in Green will be looking to snap out of Kohli’s hangover and snatch a win against African nation Zimbabwe. Shaheen Afridi, who was looking a bit rusty after returning from injury, would be itching to take on Zimbabwe’s batting lineup. To make matters worse for Zimbabwe, they have a terrible record of losing 16 of 17 against Pakistan in the format.

In the meantime, here are some of the important stats and numbers ahead of the 24th match of the Super 12 round in Group 2 between Pakistan and Zimbabwe in T20 WC 2022:
