Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue has made it known that Kawhi Leonard will come off the bench in his season opener Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers, Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes reported.

Haynes previously provided that the Clips are operating on said idea for Leonard, who is set to play his first official NBA game after missing the entirety of the 2021-22 season following ACL surgery.

According to Lue, the superstar forward experienced no setbacks, and the next plan to bench Leonard stems from the team’s collective bargaining agreement (h/t Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints).

Lue also confirmed that Reggie Jackson will start in the role of point man, and John Wall will settle for leading the team’s second unit.
